Duration  18 Days.

Dingboche on the Everest Base Camp Trek.  Everest panorama Yaks, enroute to Everest.

Probably the most famous trek in the world and frequently cited as one of the top ten things to do before you die. Nepal has long been known as a trekkers paradise, and quite rightly so. The region generally, and the Everest region specifically offers outstanding walking, with breath-taking Himalayan scenery, which changes with every turn.

Scenic mountain flight into Lukla.
Flying from Kathmandu into the mountain airstrip at Lukla, the early parts of the walk follow the course of the Dudh Kosi River, winding through forest of rhododendron and blue pine. Along the route there is a network of, sometimes rudimentary, but always warm and welcoming “Tea-house” lodges, offering the chance to unwind and relax at the end of each day.

The itinery follows the classic expedition route, leaving Lukla behind you, the path meanders north, finally climbing up to Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa “capital” nestled in a natural amphitheatre high on the mountain.

Well considered Itinery.
After a days acclimatization, we head North East out of Namche through forest of Juniper to the famous monastery at Thyangboche, with its outstanding views of Everest (8848m), Ama Dablam (6856m), and Lhotse (8512m). Along the way we'll pass numerous Mani walls, the ever present fluttering prayer flags, and pass through traditional Sherpa villages. Keep your eyes peeled for the Himalayan Tahr, the local wild goat, and the Impeyan Pheasant Nepal’s National bird can frequently be seen scuttling through the undergrowth.

Kala Pattar & Everest Views.
We trek high above the tree line, passing through a number of villages and small settlements, where after passing up the terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, we follow the glacier to Gorek Shep, and the final ascent of Kala Pattar (5545m), for the views down the entire length of the Khumbu Glacier, Base Camp and the Khumbu Ice falls and of course, the summit of Mount Everest.

Arriving at Lukla, the start of your adventure in the mountains. Entrance to Sagarmatha (Mt Everest) National Park. Namche Bazaar

Trip Highlights.
Outstanding mountain scenery, Buddhist monasteries, traditional Sherpa villages, wildlife including Golden Eagles, Night sky lit up by a Billion stars, & the Swathe of the Milky Way (weather permitting).
