Seven days walking in the shadow of Mount Everest. A comfortable hike, which at times is tiring, but always rewarding. Ideal for the weekend walker, who wants to push themselves just that little bit further.
A magical tour to the edges of the High Himalayas, walking in Alpine valleys surrounded by the highest mountains on earth. After the short, but breath-taking flight into Lukla, the tour follows the early stages of the classic expedition route through to Everest base camp. Stopping of at the Buddhist monastery at Thyangboche.
Passing through traditional Sherpa settlements, terraced fields hewn out of steep hillsides, the ever present prayer flags and Mani walls offering up their prayers to the spirits of the mountains.
Scenic mountain flight into Lukla.
Flying from Kathmandu into the mountain airstrip at Lukla, the early parts of the walk follow the course of the Dudh Kosi River, winding through forest of rhododendron and blue pine. Along the route there is a network of, sometimes rudimentary, but always warm and welcoming “Tea-house” lodges, offering the chance to unwind and relax at the end of each day.
The itinery follows the classic expedition route, leaving Lukla behind you, the path meanders north, finally climbing up to Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa “capital” nestled in a natural amphitheatre high on the mountain.
Well considered Itinery.
After a days acclimatization, we head North East out of Namche through forest of Juniper to the famous monastery at Thyangboche, with its show stopping views of Everest (8848m), Ama Dablam (6856m), and Lhotse (8512m). Along the way we'll pass numerous Mani walls, the ever present fluttering prayer flags, and pass through traditional Sherpa villages. Keep your eyes peeled for the Himalayan Tahr, the local wild goat, and the Impeyan Pheasant Nepal’s National bird can frequently be seen scuttling through the undergrowth.
Thyangboche to Pangboche.
A days trek to Pangboche, and the Khumbu regions oldest gompa, and where apparently for a very reasonable donation, the lama will show you some Yeti remains? Entering a very different landscape, of Alpine valleys, beyond the tree line.

Outstanding mountain scenery, Buddhist monasteries, traditional Sherpa villages,Prayer flags and Mani walls, wildlife including Golden Eagles, Brilliant night sky.(weather permitting).
